History of SHINDO

Starting with a single ribbon, SHINDO has continued to grow since its establishment. We have adopted and will continue to embrace new businesses and technologies.

SHINDO Seni Kogyo-sho Established
SHINDO Seni Kogyo-sho was established in 1970 as a manufacturer of narrow woven fabric. The business was founded from the thoughts of the founder, such as "a leading role (clothing) is only as good as its supporting role (ribbons and trimmings)." This was a huge challenge because such businesses had not penetrated the Japanese market, although it was already common in the U.S. and Europe.

The Challenge of New Business
In an effort to venture into a new field of operation, SC Company (Silicone Division) was established as one of SHINDO's three lines of businesses. We opened the Osaka Planning Office, and shifted our structure from an order-based manufacturer to a proposal-based manufacturer, actively approaching the market through product development and participation in exhibitions.

Renamed SHINDO CO., LTD.
We changed the company name from SHINDO Seni Kogyo-sho to SHINDO CO., LTD. By introducing the company system internally, we strengthened each division and clarified their roles. In addition, we constructed Ishizuka Factory, which consolidated distribution factories, to establish an integrated production system for the processes from dyeing to weaving.
